Asus P552w is comes with 3D UI plus GPS and Wi-Fi

Asus announced their latest WinMo Pro handset - the Asus P552w - a compact device that not only features the latest Asus-grown 3D UI Glide, but also packs a powerful CPU, as well as both GPS and Wi-Fi. This nifty device seems to have almost all goodies you could wish for, except for a capable camera (just as an Apple handset we've heard about - called the iPhone or something).

Named after a supersonic fighter jet plane Asus P552w is powered by a fast Marvel 624Mhz CPU and has 128MB of RAM. (We were just kidding about the fighter jet thing - but we had you there for a second, right? Don't worry, the new Asus device name is so complex that it could have been a fighter jet alright.)

Sony Ericsson's Idou

Sony Ericsson's Idou has made it into the wild once again these days, with a wide range of images with the device available on the Web. Among the photos with the handset, the ones that might catch your attention a little are those that show the device dressed in silver.
Most of the info on Sony Ericsson's device has been already presented in the news, and there are not too many striking new things that need to be said this time around, except maybe for the stylus dongle that can now be seen in some of the new photos. The mobile phone was unveiled last month during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, and hasn't become available on the market yet, but the new set of photos could make some enthusiasts rejoice, as would the device itself.

Most of you might already know that Idou is expected to come to the market featuring a
12-megapixel photo snapper, while also including a 3.5-inch touchscreen display, only to name some of the impressive features it will sport. One interesting fact though about Sony Ericsson Idou is that this might not be its final name after all, yet no details in this direction are available at the moment. The handset that can be seen in the photos published by Fony seems to be running under S60 5th edition developed for touchscreen handsets, but this is not the final Symbian platform that Idou is expected to include upon hitting the market, which might suggest that the new operating system is not yet ready for showcasing.

Other new things that might be said about
the device at the moment include a word on its battery, which seems to be a 1000 mAh Li-Po one, and on the phone's user interface, which shows some tweaking, like the Media center and the picture gallery. And while the camera of the pre-release unit that was snapped by the guys from Fony is said to only produce 9-megapixel samples, the final product is expected to turn into a great shooter.

Ofcom reports surge in UK mobile broadband take-up

Ofcom reports surge in UK mobile broadband take-up

In its UK Communications Market Report 2008, communications regulator Ofcom has identified a rapid increase in the use of mobile broadband in the UK.

According to Ofcom, following the launch of marketing campaigns for mobile broadband devices which enable consumers to access the internet on the move, there has been a surge in take-up with around 2 million adults in the UK saying that they had used a data card, USB modem or dongle to access the internet in March 2008.

The driver of this has been the sale of dongles, says Ofcom - small devices plugged into the USB port of laptops enabling internet access via a mobile network. Between February and June 2008, the number of dongle sales to consumers nearly doubled from 69,000 to 133,000 a month. During this five month period, there were 511,000 new mobile broadband connections in the UK.

Three-quarters of all mobile broadband users say that they access the internet via their dongle while at home and two-thirds of mobile broadband users say that they use both dongles and their landline to connect to the internet.

Ofcom also states that more than one in ten mobile phone users have accessed the internet on their mobile phone with the number of 3G mobile connections growing by 60 per cent in 2007 to reach 12.5 million subscribers - an increase of 4.7 million in 12 months

Samsung S3500

The Samsung S3500 is a midrange phone that's dressed above its station. This Samsung Soul look-alike makes good use of metal and although it trades the touchpad for a regular D-pad, it still looks a notch or two above its price range. The bottom line here is obviously the Soul connection. While the Samsung S3500 is clearly way down the portfolio ladder, it really tries to present itself favorably. Some of those Soul genes give Samsung S3500 a bit of an edge in the lower midrange. The brushed metallic look and the very same screen we saw in the original U900 Soul can only help it get noticed. Of course, the touchpad would’ve been a nuisance at this price point.

The styling aside, Samsung S3500 puts together a rather discreet spec sheet but it’s not totally clueless about what users may value. The Flash-enhanced UI and the good music package seem to be its key attractions. The capable music player makes enough sense with microSD expansion, while the FM radio offers RDS and broadcast recording functionality.

Well, more than decent looks and few but focused features seem to give Samsung S3500 a confidence boost in the lower end of the market. Let’s now see how that translates in real terms.

Download Ringtones

How To Download Ringtones Online Safely

There are lots of websites that offer ringtone downloads. However, mobile users face the risk of contracting a trojan or virus if they download ringtones online. In addition, there are other serious risks involved: hidden charges from downloading a ringtone and the possibility that your credit card information will be hacked by fraudulent individuals.

Those Internet sites that require your credit card information should not be trusted that easily to avoid getting your credit card information stolen. Though there are legitimate sites that offer free download of ringtones, these ringtones are usually single tones only. Also, the choices of mobile users are very limited from these websites.

Mobile users have other options to download ringtones. One, they can do it through the Wireless Application Protocol or WAP function of their mobile phone. The WAP function is designed to provide convenience to mobile users. With just a few strokes of the fingertips, a mobile user can surf the Internet.

Usually, a mobile user is charged per connection time to the WAP Internet. It is more costly than surfing for a ringtone through cable or wi-fi internet connections. The surfing and downloading speed is also slower. The convenience of the mobile Internet, on the other hand, can not be disregarded. Safety from virus and trojan attacks is also offered aside from free browsing when the website of the mobile service provider is accessed.

Two, mobile users also have also the option to download ringtones directly from the kiosks of mobile service providers. Mobile kiosks are available in wireless centers for use by mobile users. These kiosks do not only offer downloads of ringtones; wallpapers, themes and other services can be accessed from these stand-alone customer service machines. If mobile users have no idea of a particular service, a customer service representative is readily available to assist and explain the service.

Mobile users can also download ringtones from other mobile users through the infra-red or bluetooth wireless connection. Infra-red wireless connection is shorter in range compared to bluetooth. Also, infra-red requires necessary alignment of the source mobile phone to the recipient mobile phone for transfer. The bluetooth, on the other hand, is a newer technology that has a wider range and there is no necessary alignment to be done.

As newer functions and capabilities of mobile phones are introduced, we can be assured of more convenience in store for mobile user. However, even if the technology gets more advanced, trojan, virus and hack attacks will never disappear. So, even there are lots of options available for mobile user to be able to download ringtones online, extra caution should be observed at all times.

Phone Card

What Makes a Good International Student Phone Card?

One of the issues that most students today have to deal with is the issue of communication. Todays students need to be mobile. In other words, they should be able to easily contact people while they are on the go. There are two main options available to students who want to become mobile. They can either buy a cellular phone, and use this as their main communication tool or they can use International student phone cards as a complementary tool to their home phone service or as a way to save money in additional to thier mobile phone.

Many students wonder why they should go with one or the other. I happen to go with a combination of both options, which allows me to take advantage of the positives of both options. Some students choose cell phones as their primary communication tool. But, cellular phones come with service plans that are often unaffordable for most students. In addition, most mobile phone providers require their customers to sign long term contracts. In that sense, International student phone cards are more flexible. In addition, cellular phones need to be charged every three days or so. It is a nightmare to get stuck when your cell phones battery dies.

Some students choose International student phone cards over cell phones. There are several reasons for that. First of all, student calling cards are much cheaper compared to mobile phones. In addition, there is no need for a long term commitment when using prepaid student calling cards. Plus, International student phone cards do not need to be recharged like cell phones and are not susceptible to problems that most electronic devices experience. But, the best benefit of student calling cards is their mobility. International student phone calling cards do not require any contracts of service and can be used on a variety of telecom devices for students that our on the go from around campus to around the world.

A combination of both options seems to be the best choice out there. I happen to use Pingo as my prepaid student calling card provider. While Pingo allows me to save a lot of money on my local and long distance calls, I can save even more on my International student long distance calls. But to be able to use my prepaid card in my car, I have purchased a cell phone service that does not come with a monthly fee or a long term contract. That way I can use my prepaid student phone card to save money and use my cell phone to take advantage of my student calling card without worrying about long term contracts or monthly fees.

International VoIP Phone

International VoIP Phone Cards to Help Improve Mobility

In today's fast-paced world, mobility is a concern for everyone. Five years ago, not many people had or saw the need to have a cellular phone with them. After all, in those days a regular phone would suffice on most occasions, and there were also phone booths available to satisfy the need for emergency calls. That was then. But, nowadays it is almost impossible to keep up with the pace of everyday life without mobile devices such as cell phones.

Analysts claim that in 10 years a huge portion of people around the world will own cell phones, and the traditional phone lines are going to become obsolete. Of course, that would make sense today if the prices of wireless plans were low enough for everybody to afford them. Another reason is that some consumers have not got used to the idea of not having a static phone line. This will change, however, in the near future. What will not change is the high rates of international cell phone calls. For International VoIP phone card calls, the key to low rates is having a prepaid service, such as Pingo from Ibasis. Previously, it was almost unthinkable to use a cell phone for international calls, unless of course one has a lot of money to burn. However, with products such as Pingo, it costs the same to call internationally from a cell phone or land phone. These International VoIP phone card rates can be as low as $.018 per minute to call China from the US. These inexpensive global calling cards allow people to enjoy great low rates... lower than anybody thought possible just a few years ago.

There is a misconception among people that all calling cards are either of low quality or they are not usable on mobile phones. That could not be further from the truth. It is true that some companies sacrifice quality of service to offer lower rates to their customers. However, consumers can find truly great deals on international calling cards by investing some time researching deals out there. In addition, unlike what some people believe, calling cards are usable on cell phones just as they are on any regular phone, depending on the service provider. One thing is for certain. Cell phone owners can save a lot of money on their bills by using international VoIP phone cards to contact overseas. Best of all, they get the same quality for a mere fraction of a price they would get from their mobile service provider.

Reverse Cell Phone Search

Reverse Cell Phone Search - Get to the Bottom of Things

A reverse cell phone search allows you to determine the identity of a caller based solely on their mobile phone number. Aside from the name that is listed with the cellular phone number, a reverse mobile phone search can also provide additional information like the address and other contact details of the individual.

A reverse search can serve as a safety precaution for those instances wherein you receive anonymous phone calls that seem threatening or harassing to you. Once you learn the identity of the person making the phone calls, you can file a police report or file a request with your phone company to block calls from that specific person or cell phone number.

A reverse mobile phone search is also a good option to take to make a quick check about somebody's identity. For instance, if a business contact provides his cellular phone number, a reverse search can confirm if this contact is indeed legitimate or not.

A reverse search can also be used as an excellent technique in tracking down certain people. For instance, you can look for someone who has been avoiding your calls because they owe you money. Even family or relatives who have been estranged from each other for a long time can be reunited through a reverse cellphone search.

For the most part, conducting a reverse search is more of a challenge compared to a reverse landline search. Most landline numbers are registered in a directory but mobile numbers are usually kept confidential. In some cases, you may have to hire the services of a private detective for a reverse mobile search if you keep on meeting dead ends.

But before paying exorbitant fees for private detectives, make sure you have exhausted all the available resources. Databases for a reverse cellular phone search have become a common sight on the Internet, since a large quantity of information can be stored at a remote server, accessed anytime and gone through at rapid speeds. There are even reverse searches with the added feature of asking for an area code together with a prefix to automatically determine which mobile phone carrier is providing the service for the user.

Some online directories also allow you to obtain copies of telephone transcripts and federal phone records aside from the usual data obtained from such searches. Another advantage of conducting a reverse cellphone search online is that you are not restricted by geographical boundaries. There are websites that offer reverse cell phone searches that provide data even for international numbers. Because all the information is retrievable online, the information can be transferred and received without any delays.

Mobile Phones - Complex Choices

Mobile Phones - Complex Choices And How to Navigate Through Them

Mobile phone is part of today's fast moving society. If you ever stop for a quick breather and look back 10 years, do not you ever wonder how you managed to live without a mobile phone?

Today, in you are running late for a meeting, no one needs to be in doubt what is holding you or how long it would be before you get there. If train is late, or children need collecting or what ever, people just reach out for their pockets or purses and make a quick phone call. Problem solved.

Because every one wants or needs a mobile phone, lots of companies have entered into the market to provide them with just that. A new industry has sprung up and developed fully in the last 10 years where none existed. Telecommunications industry directly serving consumers with mobile phones is worth billions in most developed countries.

Competition has kept the prices relatively low. Mobile phones are within most peoples' reach, whether you want a mobile phone tariff on a fix term 12 or 18 month contract or on pay as you use terms.

But the competition has increased complexity that often comes when lots of companies are vying for consumer's attention and therefore offering hi or her with lots of choices. For example, there are 7 main mobile phone operators, including Vodafone, Orange and T-Mobile. They control their mobile phone frequencies and charge people for the use of the air time. To enable people to do so, they bundle the air time with mobile phones.

With an impressive number of suppliers of mobile phone suppliers, consumer is spoilt for choice. The manufactures of mobile phones include house hold names like Nokia, Sony Ericsson and Motorola and others.

Following the classic marketing, telecommunication companies have divided the consumers into various segments. Examples may be teenagers, early 20s, in their 30s and so on. From experience they know that teenagers' usage of mobile phone is not the same as people in their late 20s and so on. So the package targeted at teenagers may include features that they prefer but exclude what is low on their priority list. Sounds logical, is not it?

It is. But if we also look at how many other segments there are in the market: professionals, travellers, business people, working women, house wives, children, octogenarians and so on. They all have their own requirements. A business person requires a tariff that allows him to call anyone at any time during the day. Some people prefer to socialise by having a long chat after finishing work. And some other people's requirement never goes beyond an occasional 10 second call home to let the other half know that train is running late.

To cater for varied requirements, handset manufacturers have responded by producing phones that cater for these segments.

If you have shopped around for a mobile phone recently, you may have noticed the variety of tariffs and phones. But the complexity is much more complex than this. To entice consumers, phone companies offer inducements like freebies in the form of extra minutes in the first few months, half price line rental, free phone or Bluetooth set and so on. Their affiliates may offer even different and better, deals.

Can you see the complexity one faces when looking for a 'perfect' phone and tariff combination. We did a market survey and estimated that there are more than 20,000 mobile phones deal combinations were available in UK alone at any one time.

Sifting through all these deals for one that suits you best is like looking for a needle in a haystack. There has to be a simple way. That is where TopMobiles4u comes in.

We created a site that can compare most mobile phone deals available in UK in less than 10 seconds. Site does not sell any thing. It just compares the mobile phone tariffs and models according to your requirements and presents well laid out table with phone pictures in under seconds.

I know the UK mobile phone market inside out. Ever increasing choice was getting confusing even for me. What about people who need to buy a mobile phone once in a while?

Not any more!

Cell Phone Records

Cell Phone Records - So Who Have You Been Calling...?

More often than not, your cellular phone service provider has copies of the cellphone records of all their subscribers. Cellular phone records contain all the calls an individual has made during a particular span of time. This includes the phone or mobile number called, the time the call was made, the duration of the call, and any accompanying charges for each call made.

Other mobile phone documents even reveal the following:

* a list of incoming calls and their numbers;
* the location of calls made and received;
* the number of text messages sent;
* the number of international calls placed; and
* any extra monthly charges on the cell phone.

For postpaid plan subscribers, getting cellphone records for every billing cycle is important to pay for your monthly charges promptly and to retain the service. If mobile phone records come erratically, you should file a complaint since you are entitled to know what you are paying for every month. More importantly, you should examine your cellular phone statements to ensure that all of the charges are 100% accurate.

Cell phone Records - Practicing Online Safety

Cellular phone records are directly mailed to an address that is provided by the subscriber and are supposed to be strictly confidential. Recently, however, cell phone service providers are encouraging more of their subscribers to set up an online account.

With companies offering mobile phone statements online, you will not have to wait every month for your billing statement to be mailed to your home or office. In fact, you can check your cell phone records any time during the month, wherever there is a computer and an Internet connection. This will help you to track your cell phone usage throughout the month and determine the number of free minutes that you have left.

However, there are some risks to obtaining mobile phone documents online since there have been instances where other people have posed as account holders to get the information. They may call the cell phone service provider requesting for an address change to get the cell phone statements or they may find a way to activate your online account for the same purpose.

There are also a number of third party companies on the Internet that are selling cellular phone records but you must learn to be wary of these. Keep in mind that cellphone records need to be ordered directly from the cell phone service provider.

Despite any potential danger, accessing mobile phone statements online is undeniable convenient. It's really up to you to secure your information and you can do this by...

* immediately changing the temporary password that your cell phone service provider has given;
* coming up with a difficult password (preferably alpha-numeric) that you have picked randomly (i.e., one that is not obviously related to you such as your birth date or anniversary date);
* not divulging your password to anybody else!

Mobile phone records are part of your entitlements as a cell phone service subscriber but you also need to be an intelligent consumer. Identity fraud is on the rise but if you keep your records secure and scrutinize your cell phone statements for any anomalous entries all the time, then you will not be a victim.

Mobile Service

Mobile Service on Your Phone

You can visit a mobile service centre and they should be able to reset the lock code for a small fee. Alternatively you could try entering the lock code incorrectly 3 times or until it asks for your PUK code. Once it asks for your PUK code, you can enter it and your lock code should be reseted to default settings (maybe 12345). This is the case with alot of Nokia phones, but it could erase your contacts. To be safe, you might be better off going using my first suggestion.

The wireless providers use either the SIM card number from GSM providers (Cingular and T-Mobile) or the ESN number on a device (Verizon and Sprint) to associate your wireless number. These numbers should never be given out to anyone except your provider (or authorized reseller). I can't imagine why a game company needs your IMEI number, except because they may put that into a database to associate you with the "license" he is providing to you. There is no way that he can track your IMEI since it is not sent through anything wirelessly. Personally, I would not send your actual IMEI. I would take a look at your IMEI on your device and then change the last three or four digits and send that to him. He won't know the difference, believe me. It's the first 5-7 digits or so that identify the type of device, so if you tell him you have a Motorola Razr, for example, and he knows anything about IMEI's, he will know that the Razr's IMEI starts with 3571234, for example (not real, just an example).

In this case, sending the IMEI number should be fine. The person needs it to prevent software piracy. Each phone has a unique number to identify it, so once the person has your IMEI number, the passcode will only work for your phone. Its just a safeguard to prevent you from passing the game onto someone else.
An IMEI number is also used to disable a phone, so for example your phone was stolen, if you were to contact your network provider quoting your IMEI number, they'll be able to disable the phone, so whoever has it wont be able to use it, even if they were to place their own sim card into it. Of course, I'm sure network providers ask security questions first to make sure you were the owner of the phone.

Your IMEI number is a unique number that identifies your phone. For example, if I had that number I could remotely hack into your phone and empty your credits.

Phones Locked and Unlocked

Why are some Phones Locked and Unlocked

The term GSM means - Global System for Mobile Communications. It is the most popular standard for mobile phones in the world. GSM differs significantly from its predecessors in that both signaling and speech channels are Digital call quality, which means that it is considered a second generation (2G) mobile phone system. GSM is an open standard which is currently developed by the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP).

From the point of view of the consumer, the key advantage of GSM systems has been higher digital voice quality and low cost alternatives to making calls such as text messaging. The advantage for network operators has been the ability to deploy equipment from different vendors because the open standard allows easy inter-operability. Like other cellular standards GSM allows network operators to offer roaming services which mean subscribers can use their phones all over the world.

To help you further understand, GSM is simply a standard used by phones to communicate with each other. It is a new standard that has been adopted to all new models of phones and is now so prevailant that it has become the 'norm' in the phone world.

Now to answer your other question, with respect to locked and unlocked phones. A phone is locked when it is attached to network. For example if you go to AT&T and purchase a phone from them then that phone is said to be locked unto the AT&T network and as such it cannot work on another network such as SPRINT or NEXTEL. Thus an unlocked phone is a phone that is bought, that is not locked to any network. And as such it can work on any network.

The network it will lock unto will depend on the SIM card you put into the phone. For example if you put a AT&T sim in an unlocked phone then it will work on the AT&T network. In the same way if you put a NEXTEL SIM card in an unlocked phone then it will work on the NEXTEL network.

However if the phone is locked to a particular network, like say for example AT&T then changing the SIM card in the phone to another SIM card from another network such as NEXTEL will not work. This is because the phone is locked unto to AT&T network and as such will not work on any other network.

Yes, you can use the prepaid SIM card on the phone once the phone is either unlocked or on the same network as the SIM card you are going to put into it. It should work just fine.

Unfortunatly is isn't possible to have more than one phone on the same line. It is possible to have more to than one phone on the same account, in fact, some providers will allow many many lines on one account.

The reason why your unable to do this is that your phone has a ESN (electronic serial number) that assoicated with that line. What this does is allow your network to send the calls to your phone. If there is more then one ESN per line then it will cause problems receiving calls.

For example, I had a phone that i wasnt using anymore when i bought a new one, well my old phone was recieving text messages that my new one was supposed to get, but the new one would get all the calls. To resolve the issue that had to erase the programming on the phone.

Making the World Smaller

Mobile Phones: Making the World Smaller

Today, communication is everything, and this is evident in the way in which we get our everyday products from all over the world. Before the invention of the telephone, it was unimaginable that one would ever be able to converse with somebody even twenty miles away. In the world of today, we can't even bring ourselves to visualize what life would be like if we could not speak across oceans and continents.

There was a time when a telephone was attached to a wall and could move only as far as the telephone cord. Today, even in our homes we are able to chitchat about about the weather and everything else under the sun from not just the drawing rooms, but also from the kitchen, the bathroom, the attic, or any other place you can visualize. And all this because the telephone had finally become cordless.

There was a time when the car phone was seen as being a major advance. Who would have imagined that there would come a time when you could talk while you were moving from one place to another. Yet, even with cordless phones and car phones, we continued to be fixed to something – in this case, the house and the car respectively.

Then the big boom happened! We saw the invention of something that introduced a great shift in the way in which the world carried out its communication. The spotlight time of the mobile phone had now begun. This was obviously very different from the days when letters had to be posted whenever some message of great importance was involved. Back in the days when post was the only way to communicate quickly, one could never have imagined getting super-fast answers. But now, as mobile phones continue to exercise their sway over our lives, the buzzword is instant communication.

We are the children of the communication era, and can observe the rise of newer and newer modes of communication. And what could give voice to this era than the mobile phone the mobile phone. We are no longer tied down by telephone cords. We are able to talk to our near and dear ones, our colleagues and mentors, and whoever else we would like to even as we keep moving around.

Gone are the days of having to keep in mind important phone numbers. We have passed the days of looking for a pay phone if we want to make a call. The mobile phone has made life so much easier for us, by allowing us to make and receive calls at all times!

Mobile Ringtones

Selecting Mobile Ringtones For Your Cell Phone

Part of the fun of having a cell phone today is that you can upload all sorts of interesting mobile ringtones. You can use these cell phone ringtones for sounding when you have an inbound call, to let you know when you have an audio message, and also when you receive an instant message as well. There are all sorts of ringtones around today. Here are few examples of the types of mobile ringtones you can use to customize your cell phone.

Some of the most popular ringtones these days are hooks from current popular songs. In fact, there are several music services that allow you to download multiple rings and save them directly on your cell phone. Typically, the cost for the downloads are very little, and it guarantees that wherever you go, your favorite artist will let you know when you have a call or message pending. Because the mobile ringtones are so easy to download, you can switch out the tones any time you like.

For those of us that may like the oldies, do not fear. Mobile ringtones for people who are into the music of another era is also widely available today. While classic rock and roll and top 40 music of past decades are very popular, you can also find mobile ringtones that feature folk artists, blues riffs and jazzy horn melodies, if that is your preference.

Do you enjoy the sound of a coyote wailing or the love to hear water cascading over a waterfall? There are mobile ringtones that are perfect for you as well. Nature sounds are used by a lot of people to help create a restful and meditative atmosphere in the home, so it should not come as any surprise that people might want to take a little of that good feeling with them when they are out. An added bonus to having nature oriented cell phone ringtones will be the looks of confusion that people will assume when they hear your phone ring.

For those that are more retro, you can go with mobile ringtones that sound exactly like the old wired telephones that we all used for decades. From the familiar chirp that characterized American telephones for decades to the double rings familiar to generations of United Kingdom phone users, your cell phone can be equipped with mobile ringtones to bring back the good old days.

When it comes to cell phone ringtones, your only real limitation is your imagination. These days, if it can be captured in a sound byte, chances are it can be converted into mobile ringtones that are not only functional, but also will amuse you and the people around you. For more information, check out the Internet for some great deals on ringtones, or speak with your cell provider.

Mobile Phones And Price

How To Compare Thousands of Mobile Phones And Price Plans in Under 10 Seconds

Have you noticed the frequency of new mobile phone shops opening in your local high street lately? Have you also noticed the number of deals offered by these outlets?

No two outlets seem to offer the same deals. If you are after more minutes, a good phone and a reasonably priced plan, all at the same time then you better put some time aside because it is going to take you a while to sift through all those sale broachers. And the deals offered by these outlets are often better than those offered by the phone companies themselves.

Carrying a mobile phone has become an essential and acceptable part of our culture now. In fact, it sounds for some one not carrying a phone; especially of they are under 50.

The mobile phone companies are increasingly becoming aware of catering to the varied tastes of all ages - from teenagers to grand dads, and ever one in between. Companies are introducing all sorts of phone models as well as price plans to entice the consumers based upon what people want. This is called segmentation of the customer base.

Lets consider for a moment the age groups that these companies have to cater for. Phones used by young customers are unlikeliest candidates for people at pension-able ages. Younger people like features in their phones while older customers are interested in the functionality and practicality of their cell phones.

Similarly younger customers are keen to send texts and chat with their friends and peers while older customers want the phone to have a brief conversation when there is no other alternative.

Mobile phone companies have to cater for the requirements for ALL these customers. That is why they have so many phone models. And that is also why there are so many price plan options.

Last time I checked, there were more than 20,000 combinations of phone models and price plan deals in UK alone. This is mainly generated by 5 main mobile phone companies which they sell either directly or via their partners in high street or on the web.

If you are an average mobile phone user then how easy it is to wad through all these deals and choose the one that fits in with your life style and pocket? It is not easy. There has to be an easy way.

Well, some sites can compare almost all mobile phones and associated deals offered by virtually every major operator and player in UK. All these 20,000 deals are quickly compared in less than 10 seconds.

Try it! You are guaranteed to be amazed.

Impact of mobile phones

Impact of mobile phones in daily life

Mobile phone is a long-range, portable electronic device used for mobile communication. Mobile phones are now inexpensive, easy to use, comfortable and equipped with almost every latest feature we desire.

Mobile phones are also known as lifesavers as they can help people in emergencies. If you get stuck in the middle of the road and find no one for help, you can just use a mobile phone and call for help. Mobile phones are comfortable way of communication over a long distance. Along with the obvious convenience and quick access to help in emergencies big and small, mobile phones can be both economical and essential for travelers trying to stay connected.

In Japan, mobile phone companies provide immediate notification of earthquakes and other natural disasters to their customers free of charge. In the event of an emergency, disaster response crews can locate trapped or injured people using the signals from their mobile phones or the small detonator of flare in the battery of every cell phone; an interactive menu accessible through the phone's Internet browser notifies the company if the user is safe or in distress.

We have also been downloading Java games and video clips to our mobile phones. Several online mobile phone shops have come up to cater to this increasing demand for the best mobile phone handsets and the most reliable and cost-effective services in the use of the same.

Along with all these advantages there are many disadvantages for mobile phone usage.
Mobile-phone use while driving is common. It is generally agreed that using a hand-held mobile phone while driving is a distraction that brings risk of road traffic accidents. So we need to use hands free sets to avoid such hazards.

The potential impact of the kind of electromagnetic fields generated by cellular phones on the human brain has received little attention until relatively recently, and it’s probably still much too soon to pronounce on the possible adverse effects of long-term exposure. Accumulating evidence indicate that microwave radiation from mobile phones may cause serious diseases and disturbances in the physiology. This includes an increased cancer risk and genetic damage, disturbed brain function and other effects. Mobile phone radiation and health concerns have been raised, especially following the enormous increase in the use of wireless mobile telephony throughout the world.

So prolonged use of mobile phone should be avoided. The head set should be kept at reasonable distance from our head.
